Come to the Table!
Sept 22–23, 2017-STONY POINT CENTER, NY
Our synod community gathers annually. On the even years we gather as our Synod Assembly — our coming together to affirm our connectional identity by together setting goals and handling the necessary governance. On the odd years we gather at Come to the Table — our coming together to learn about ministry innovation and missional opportunities being developed by Presbyterians throughout our region.
We welcome you to Come to the Table 2017!
Participants from the Presbyteries of Western NY, Genesee Valley, Geneva and Utica will join to Learn Together about Systemic Racism
Thanks to Funding and Encouragement from the Synod of the Northeast
Date and Time: Saturday, October 21st, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Crossroads Workshop Description and Leaders:
Introduction to Systemic Racism: The purpose of this workshop is to explore racism as a systemic, institutional problem of power that goes beyond personal prejudice. Participants will experience first-hand Crossroads’ effective methodology for facilitating productive conversations about race.
They will also be introduced to a strategic methodology that can assist people to effectively organize to dismantle racism in their institutions. Our workshop leaders will be ministers who are trainer/organizers (one white and one non-white) from Crossroads Anti-Racism Organizing and Training.

“Park Presbyterian Church has recently re-established relationships with our Presbyterian brothers and sisters in Quintana Roo, Mexico. We have covenanted with Living Waters for the World, the mission ministry of the Synod of the Living Waters PC USA, to bring clean water to the mission church of El Sinai and the Limones community of 5,000. Plans are set for an installation trip in February, 2018, and we invite others to join us in this mission. Please visit www.parkpresbyterian.org for more information, or contact Linda Werts, firstname.lastname@example.org or (315) 331-6999 for more information.”
